2018 Reader Favorites – Top 10 Blog Posts

Each year I look back to review and share with you the top 10 blog posts my readers loved from last year!

It’s one of my favorite posts each year (and something every blogger should do) because…

•  It’s a quick way for others to see your best ‘offerings’ in one spot.
• Show’s you where your strengths are and what your readers love to read most from you – thus the type of posts to keep doing in 2019!
• These posts can help brands discover market trends + see the topics you excel in so they know you’re a good match for them/their product.
• Allows you to plan out your focus and content for the new year.

How do I know which blog posts are my top 10? I look at my Google Analytics data from Jan 1,2018 – Dec 31, 2018 and pull the 10 blog posts, written within that year, with the largest number of pageviews!

10. How To Make Money With A Blog

This posts explains 5 ways to make money with a blog and resonates with 95% of all bloggers – those that blog to earn an income, not just a hobby! For some, it’s about making some extra money for their families, others (like me) it is our full-time income/job. So with such a high percentage of bloggers wanting to make money blogging, I can see why this is my #10 most read post of 2018.

9. Pumpkin Donuts

When Fall hits, I (and clearly LOTS of others) automatically think of everything pumpkin… pumpkin bread, pumpkin spiced lattes and pumpkin donuts! My baked pumpkin donuts 3 different ways; plain, maple glazed or cinnamon sugar coated were a hit.

8. Refreshing Blackberry Cocktail (or Mocktail)

This blackberry cocktail drink recipe is made with blackberries, 7-up® and Malibu Coconut Rum, all fancied up with a few whole blackberries and a rosemary sprig. It’s just so stinkin’ pretty… and of course, refreshing!

7. Best of Christmas Holiday Décor Favorites

I had done a similar post in 2017 (which also ended up in my top 10 list for that year). Whenever you have a hit blog post, it’s always good to do a repeat! Plus, this is my favorite time to gather ideas to decorate our home.

6. Cranberry Snowball Cookies

These have always been a favorite of mine and this year for the holiday season, I decided to add cranberries. Guess I’m not the only fan!

5. DIY Painted Doormat Cute Shoes

This post spun a number of diy doormat making parties! But what I really loved, was seeing people re-create my design and then share their doormat photos on IG. So cool!

4. My Favorite Modern Bar and Counter Stools

Readers love when we do the work for them! This aggregate blog post where I curated my 7 favorite modern bar and counter stools really helped people find several options all in one post. Note to self: do more aggregate blog posts in 2019… btw: you should too!

3. My Favorite Modern Script Fonts

I have to say, I was surprised how much traffic was garnered by this fun and easy post. And it had affiliate marketing in it, so the extra money has been a fun surprise too! haha

2. Vodka Cranberry Raspberry Cocktail

Those of you in my BLOG EDU got to see this post on Googles #1 page search (when we were reviewing SEO during a FB Live) – this post is still at the top of the charts, heck, I even beat out Oceanspray in the search… clearly it’s a favorite!

1. My Spring Home Tour

My home and décor style is simple and clean, with a “less is more” styling. When Spring hit, I decided to bring more of the outside in. Between my loyal readers, Pinterest and this post being a blog hop with 6 of my blogging friends – it easily became my #1 post of 2018! THANK YOU!!!
