{DIY} Valentine’s Day Biz Subway Art

Subway art is HOT right now and I absolutely love it!

Since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner AND one of the most popular ‘gift buying’ holidays, I thought I’d provide you with a FREE sign you can share with your customers…to remind them to buy gifts for their loved ones from you! Or feel free to create your own subway art!

I created this simple 8×10 Valentine’s Day Biz Subway Art (image above) via Picnik.  It’s free, you don’t have to download anything, it’s easy and it’s a lot of fun!

Here’s how to create your own DIY subway art:

My step-by-step instructions are for an 8×10 size, but there are all kinds of collage and size options to choose from.

Step 1: Go to www.picnik.com

Step 2: Make a Collage

On Picnik, select the Library tab, then select Make A Collage.

Change the Quality to high.

Click on the first Basic image, then under columns move the bar to 1. Next to spacing you’ll see a ‘colored box’ and this is where you can choose the background color of choice.  I selected white (FFFFFF) and then pressed Done.

Once you’ve hit the Done (top right), then you can change the size of your collage. I changed mine to an 8×10 (this can be found in the ‘no constraints’ drop down menu). Then hit apply.

Step 3: Text

Here’s the fun part where you can make your own text! Press the Text button at the top of the screen, and use the right sidebar to add your text (I used Valentine’s Day words that a business could use to promote the holiday). Write something in the box, choose the font, press “ADD” and then change the size and position of the word. On the right side of the screen, there will be a box that pops up where you can change the color. Note: Don’t forget to click somewhere else on the screen before you try to add another word.

You can rotate, resize and play around until you are happy with your Subway Art.

Step 4: Save Your Art

Click the “Save and Share” tab at the top of the page. Rename your file, and press SAVE – this will allow you to save your art to your computer. That’s it!

Step 5: Take Action

I’d suggest saving the image on your business Facebook page – with reminders/shout outs between now and Valentine’s Day of all the great gift ideas you have (along with a link to your shopping page)!

And if you have a store location, print your image. I like to put my designs in an 8×10 frame and place near a register or display! For the Valentine’s Day 8×10 sign you’re looking at less than $2 to have this photo printed at Costco.
