A Modern Cozy Scandinavian Style Christmas – in the Master Bedroom
My minimalist ever loving heart loves to decorate a Christmas tree with a Scandinavian style — focusing on style but keeping it minimal and natural at the same time.
I like our bedroom to be relaxing and peaceful, which is why I chose to go with a modern, cozy Scandinavian style Christmas in our master bedroom this year!

It’s simplistic style is so refreshing… and after a crazy year like 2020, we all could use a little extra dose of joy, beauty and peace!
I purchased this 9 foot “Frosted Alpine Balsam Fir” Christmas tree from Balsam Hill. I wanted something that didn’t overtake the room and this one fit the bill!
Since the tree itself is so beautiful, I knew I’d keep the decorations minimal.
I bought natural wood beads and strung them into garland. The non-conforming nature of the garland string fits my personality to a T.
The best part of having a Scandinavian style Christmas tree? It saves you time and cost on decorating. And the cleanup will be quick too! Can I get an AMEN to that!!!
Here’s a few tips to create a Scandinavian style Christmas tree…
- Stick to a neutral + one color palette.
- Don’t use too many ornaments. This will let the tree take center stage.
- Incorporate natural elements, like the natural wood garland to add warmth.
- Don’t overthink things. Remember, less is more!
This is my favorite spot to curl up and read my bible on the daily.
