Display & Prop Ideas

I recently returned from a visit back home (Bellingham, WA) with my parents who have accumulated lots of “stuff”. Whether they picked up items from auctions, estate sales, thrift stores, or yard sales there is always good stuff to be found.
When it comes to creating a stunning display, you don’t always need to spend a fortune on brand-new items. In fact, some of the best props and décor pieces might already be right in front of you! Before you go shopping, take a look around your home (or even your parents’ home) to see what you can borrow. Books, vases, trays, small furniture pieces, or even stylish knick-knacks can add the perfect touch to your setup.
If you do need to purchase a few key items, stores like Target, Ikea, HomeGoods, Ross, and Home Depot offer affordable and stylish options that work beautifully for displays. Keep an eye out for multi-functional pieces that can be used across different projects, whether you’re setting up for a boutique, trade show, retail window, or photo shoot.
So I want to remind you to:
- Borrow items from your own home (or your parents),
- Shop stores like Target, Ikea, HomeGoods, Ross, and HomeDepot
- Check out some thrift stores, auctions, estate and yard sales, or
- Rent from prop rental businesses
Whether you’re looking to create a display for a trade show, boutique, event, photo shoot, retail, or window… I hope these display & prop ideas inspire your creative juices!

Happy hunting!
Just beautiful, Tana!
Thank you!
