7 Inspiring Mud Rooms That Are Functional and Stylish
Today I’ve created a round-up of some of my most inspiring mud rooms.
Mud rooms are one of those spaces that can easily get overlooked since most people simply come in, kick off their shoes, drop off their junk (purses, backpacks, mail, etc.) and shut the door behind them.
I prefer mud rooms to be welcoming and calm just as your front entry way or foyer. How do you keep this space calm and welcoming?
Here’s a few inspiring mud rooms that make an entrance AND are functional – keeping ‘the stuff’ organized and out of site, if need be.
White is timeless and a favorite of mine, but what makes this space warm and inviting is the wood topped bench, light woven baskets and the delightful gray and white checkered floor!
I’m obsessed with white spaces and black trimmed doors and windows. Add in this laundry room station, bench, storage and gorgeous hanging lighting… yowza!
We need to just pause for a moment! This mini shower washing station is BRILLIANT!!! Got muddy shoes, bam. Dirty feet, bam. Dirty dog, bam. And this herringbone tiled floor, shiplap and gorgeous door had me loving it at first sight!
Although white is timeless and a favorite of mine, color can add depth and interest. I also love having some, if not all, storage areas behind doors – this really helps you keep EVERYTHING nicely hidden!
These two glass lanterns really set the tone in this x-front closed locker doors with adorning bronze pulls. And the white storage bench topped with a dark stained wood seat and dark stained oak wood floors provide just the right amount of contrast to this white space.
Here’s another stunning two tone mud room! The combination of floor-to-ceiling white cabinets, covered in wainscoting, along with drawers and bench makes this mud room one of my absolute favorites!
This mud room has more of a ‘locker vibe’ due to the two walls of lockers with hooks for coats, helmets, backpacks, etc. I really like how the light custom wood bench adds a little rugged touch to the otherwise smooth, sleek, dark cabinets and porcelain tile flooring.
Storage is definitely key in our house, but you don’t have to forgo timeless design and style!
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing some of my most inspiring mud rooms! And that I’ve inspired you to not overlook this gorgeous space in your own home.
In my dream house I totally have a mudroom like these!!! So incredibly pretty and functional.
You and me both! I’ll be tackling this project soon. I need to hide a bunch of the hubs ‘stuff’. haha
These inspire me to get mine done!
It’s on my ‘next’ list!
