The Best Cranberry Snowball Cookies

These melt-in-your-mouth cookies with cranberries and rolled in powdered sugar are sure to become a family favorite!

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • ½ cup powder sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup sweetened dried cranberries chopped
  • Powder sugar for rolling


  1. Preheat oven to 325F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In bowl, cream butter for 2 minutes. Add powder sugar and mix until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture. Mix until incorporated.
  4. Add cranberries.

  5. Roll into 1 Tablespoon sized balls and place on baking sheet, leaving 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake cookies 12-15 minutes, until edges are lightly browned.
  7. Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes; then roll in powder sugar and transfer to a cooling rack to cool down completely.
  8. Roll cookies again in powder sugar before serving.

Recipe Notes

If you don’t want to bake all of the cookies at once. After you’ve rolled them into balls, you can place them in a ziplock bag and freeze them for later.
