“Build It and They Will Come”
Most small business owners thought that once they opened their doors for business, everyone would know about it and the new customers would just come rolling in.
Oh My – that would be a big mistake on your part!
If that were the case, you’d have a flurry of customers walking through your door everyday.
I’m here to tell you.
There are things that you can do to ensure that if you build it right, they will come.
You just need to roll up your sleeves and get to work self-promoting and improving your business.
Here’s 5 ways to promote your business NOW:
Website or Blog. This is your 24/7 salesperson – is it bringing you new customers, is it consistent with your look and brand? If not, it’s time to fire it! Your site should communicate your uniqueness (what sets you apart) and turn prospects into customers, while you’re sleeping!
Facebook your Face off. Instead of just posting pictures of your location and products, how about using Facebook as a means of staying connected with your customers? Ask people to let their friends know too…you can never have too many friends.
eZine/email. Stay connected with your database and followers to promote upcoming events, deals, tips, new products and services – you get the idea.
Referrals. These little diddy’s cost you nothing, but you need to ASK for them.
Form a Strategic Alliance. Ask yourself “where else do my customers hang out?” If you don’t know, ask your customers. Offer to promote each others businesses.
You should not be waiting around for people to simply find you or walk through your door. Stir up some self-promotion and they will come.
