How To Create High Traffic Generating Blog Posts

Did you know that the 4 types of blog posts that generate the most traffic are:

• Fashion
• DIY Crafts
• Interior Design/Home Décor
• Food

I don’t fit any of these categories, do you? Or if you do fit one of these, just know that you can ‘dip’ into one of the other categories and still stay within your niche.

So how can you (and I) still write a blog post from time to time that hits one of these high generating traffic topics? It’s simple. Incorporate one of these topics within a blog post that is for your readers.

The last time I did this was almost a year ago, it was a blog post titled ‘5 Product Photography Tips (Bonus: Slider Recipe)‘.

5 Product Photography Tips was a normal topic for my audience – nothing out of the norm. It was written for my readers that sell products or share recipes online and talked about how having great photos is a must. I also gave readers 5 key things to ask themselves before posting a picture of their item online. The images featured in the blog post were my own spicy jalapeno slider shots. As an added bonus, I included my spicy jalapeno slider recipe.

Do you see how I stayed true to my brand, my audience, yet incorporated a high traffic driver (food – recipes) at the same time?

The end result: Pinterest drove a lot of traffic to my site, but so did Google organic search.

Note: I didn’t make the first page of Google’s website search engine (I was beat out by full-time food bloggers), but I did end up as the first two images of Google’s image search. BAM!

And, I’m going to give you a bonus this time too… my ‘Easy Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip’ recipe (see below) – just in time for Super Bowl 50!

See how I just snuck in another high traffic generating blog post topic within a post?! Get on it!

Side note: Now that you know how to create high traffic generating blog posts, I don’t advise to do this ALL the time. It might confuse your readers and a lot of this extra traffic may not be your ideal target audience… but from time to time it’s a great way to create high traffic generating blog posts and a few new followers!

Easy Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe and AppetizerRECIPE: Easy Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip

This slow cooker buffalo chicken dip is super-easy when it’s made in a crock pot, and is sure to be a hit at any party (Super Bowl or not).

Prep: 10 minutes Cook: 1 hour 30 minutes

INGREDIENTS:
1 (8 ounce) block light cream cheese
3 cups diced or shredded cooked chicken, I like to grill my chicken and dice it
2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 cup plain light sour cream
1 cup Frank’s Redhot Wings Buffalo Sauce
*Optional toppings or side: crumbled blue cheese

DIRECTIONS:
Spray the inside of the slow cooker bowl with cooking spray. Add all ingredients. Stir until combined.

Note: You can either leave the dip in the slow cooker or transfer it to a bowl for easy scooping! And because not everyone loves blue cheese like I do, I usually place crumbled blue cheese in a side dish. Either way, it’s amazing. Enjoy!
